Alex Guarnaschelli
Guarnaschelli was the daughter of Maria Guarnaschelli, and John Guarnaschelli. She has graduated from Barnard College in 1991 with an art history degree. She worked in an American Place restaurant for one year , earning the minimum wage from 1991 until the year 1991. Guarnaschelli's first culinary experiences began while watching her mother test numerous recipes at home while editing cookbooks. Guarnaschelli's career began under Larry Forgione. Her son Marc Forgione was the Iron Chef. Guarnaschelli later went on to work at various eateries throughout France as well as Los Angeles. Guy Savoy owns La Butte Chaillot. She was also employed at Daniel Boulud's famous restaurant as well as Joachim Splichal's Patina prior to becoming executive chef at Butter. After the restaurant's closure, she was the chef-in-chief of The Darby. Chairperson of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. In 2013, her first book was released. "Old-School Comfort Food": The Way I learned to Cook" incorporates autobiographical elements with favorite recipes in her professional work that she later adapted to her kitchen at home.
